The three entities initiated a breast cancer awareness social media campaign throughout the month of October. To kick off the campaign, the team designed pink breast cancer awareness themed Stick t-shirts which were printed by Legacy Screen Print & Design in Fairmont, W.Va. The t-shirts were then sold both in-store and online and were promoted through several social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. One hundred percent of proceeds benefited Bonnie’s Bus.

“We had such great support from the community in raising the proceeds for this lifesaving organization,” said Stick/Stick Tattoo President, Damian Ferek. “Though we launched the initiative, the final donation wouldn’t be possible without those who believed in the cause right along with us.”

Bonnie’s Bus is a mobile mammography unit that offers breast care screening to women in remote areas of West Virginia. In 2013 alone, the mobile mammography unit provided mammograms to 1,995 West Virginia women in just 113 screening days. “Bonnie’s Bus provides lifesaving screenings and we want to be play a role in supporting the Breast Care Center’s continued efforts to help the women of our state,” said Ferek. “We hope this contribution succeeds in doing just that, and look forward to seeing the number of provided mammograms continue to grow in the years to come.”
